A comment from a young guy..

Hi

Maybe its because I am younger or that I've been using Domino less time (I am 24, Administering for 5 years and running) but I have always felt that Domino/Notes have 2 main problems:

- Design
- License

I think I was always designed and focused on making the administrator life easier and starting with R8 it changed like 180°. But maybe it was a little late so yes, they lose some user base. Of course its also hard to battle when you install Windows and there you have Outlook. For companies that only need mail, selling Domino its hard.

About the license, I feel like they have a much more appealing way of selling Office and Exchange.

I remember when in LotusJam I put "Lotus Knows its better than Exchange". Immediately a lot of guys thumbed it down because I said the "M" word. I mean, denying your (only) rival its silly. I can understand the need to really dont care about what the other do and just focus in what you do best.

But Domino its not alone. So, its not bad to learn from the others and also keep innovating.
